You’ve got until June 30, 2025 to take advantage of Truckee’s Dark Sky lighting rebate program that will pay up to $75 per exterior lighting fixture you install (for residences, $50 for businesses).
The Dark Sky program endeavors to limit outdoor light pollution by encouraging people to install lights that limit light flooding the night sky. Basically, they want people to install lights that point down to the ground, and not up into the sky.
